E bay selling changes to listings and charges
I have noted that E bay have stopped all Classified advertising apart from Motors . As a result of this move we have found the need to move all of our high value items on to another selling platform due to the final value selling cost of these items. We have a number of items advertised at £10,000 or above and having a charge on an E bay sale which could be £1200 or much more final value charge is not sustainable in our line of business. We have been an e bay seller for around 20 years and have always found it to be a very good selling site so it is with regret this move has been made. We will continue to sell low value items on the E bay platform and hope that E bay will see that this change in policy will drive a number of sellers from e bay. This change was made without notice and I think it is a very poor way of doing business. We only found out about this change when trying to relist an expired advert. I had to make contact three times to find out this information as the first two agents I spoke to did not now about this change. The thing I do not understand is that E bay are advertising on TV for sellers but are driving away existing sellers. I have also noted a large number of sellers selling high value items are using a buy now listing but are using these listings to then make the sale off the E bay platform and therefore do not pay any fees.
