Critical Bug: GTC Multi-Variation 30-Day Renewal Loop Resurrecting Sold-Out Stock
Summary: sandlonlineshop highlighted an issue with eBay's Good 'Til Cancelled (GTC) system, where sold-out variations in multi-variation listings get mistakenly relisted during the 30-day renewal, leading to unwanted stock relisting and customer dissatisfaction. lanternsuprise confirmed experiencing similar problems, including deleted items reappearing and active listings showing zero stock yet still active, expressing frustration over these glitches and lack of support during certain times. The issue seems systemic, affecting multiple sellers and requiring technical intervention from eBay.
Hi everyone,
I'm posting this to see if other business sellers are experiencing a severe database glitch with Good 'Til Cancelled (GTC) multi-variation listings during the 30-day auto-renewal cycle.
On multiple occasions, when individual variations within a multi-variation listing have completely sold out and sit at a quantity of zero, eBay’s system fails to respect that zero-stock state when the 30-day renewal triggers. Instead of maintaining live inventory, the system overrides it with an outdated historical template, automatically relishing items that have already been sold.
This creates a major ghost-relisting loop that puts dead stock back live without warning, risking customer trust, leading to forced order cancellations, and requiring constant manual auditing.
Frontline chat support treats this as a billing or voucher issue, but it is clearly a backend database error in the GTC renewal logic for multi-variation templates.
Is anyone else running into this issue with their inventory? If any community moderators or staff are monitoring, please escalate this to the technical operations team for a patch.

·3 weeks agoI only ever have 1 item of a piece of clothing and the other day I had one sat in my active listings with 0 stock but still showing as active for 2 days and then it disappeared. I honestly don't know whats going on with this site anymore, it's a right mess.
And don't get me started on when its kids holidays, its like the whole of ebay takes these holidays off and no one is working, its a ghost town
