Can I combine two deliveries to the same buyer/address with different click and collect eCP ID numbers?
Can I combine two deliveries to the same buyer/address with different click and collect eCP ID numbers and just mark the other one as dispatched with the tracking? Negating one, free shipping, regular buyer, so not sure how this would cause an issue; but I know with things like Global Shipping eBay advises sending them seperately.

·2 weeks agoIf it's a regular buyer that you trust, just let them know what's happening and do it.
I have done so in the past with no issues for a regular buyer.
For a new buyer, then likely I would not.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedUPDATE FOR ANY FUTURE READERS: Spoke to eBay about this Jul29 08:50 - they advised I 'CAN' combine the two, but the eBay system doesn't like having two identical tracking numbers across multiple orders so to just mark the second order as dispatched. They advised NOT doing it generally because if the buyer were to say it hadn't arrived it would be very hard for me to prove I did post them together and there's a 99% chance eBay would side with them immediately. They did however say if it's a buyer I trust that it is possible to do and something I may want to consider.

·2 weeks agoI have combined and altered the address to put in both eCP ID number on the address
and message on the front to input both eCP ID for collect purposes (the shop assistant enters these numbers) also the system does allow you to enter tracking numbers for multiple orders (as long as they have used the same logins)

OP3 weeks ago · EditedIt's a shame because they're both to the same buyer, same click and collect, free delivery included - so I'll be losing out on combined postage (~£4 on a £20 item), seems ineffeicient.
What's the issue with marking one as dispatched and shipping together, and adding the tracking to the other order? It's a repeat buyer so unlikely to get an item not arrived flag from their side. Would it effect anything on eBays system?

If that's a risk you are prepared to take, I can't see why ebay systems would be impacted.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedSending both items in one package ... tracking number for that ... tracking number added to both 'seperate' orders (Order Details > Mark as Dispatched > Add Tracking Number). So the 1x tracking number, 1x package, but 2x orders in one package.

·2 weeks agoIf you ship together you will get one tracking for one item and one item only will be marked as dispatched. You cannot add tracking to the other item, and payment for that item, will be held for a minimum of 14 days.
As you say, they are a repeat buyer so less chance of them opening a case for item not received.
Or, you can either cancel the sale with the buyer's agreement, and relist all on one item for the buyer to buy and pay again. Cancel the item selecting ' Buyer Requests to Cancel', this fully refunds the buyer, and your seller performance is not affected.
Or, send the items together and buy your own over the counter postage. The drawback here is you'll only have tracking for one item so the potential of case for item not received to be made, and your payout would be held for a minimum of 14 days.

So yes you could merge them, the risk is as others have advised they claim they never received the other item.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedI'm a business seller ... so the postage I buy will be manual anyway (Royal Mail Tracked 48) - it isn't simple delivery. I believe I can mark one as dispatched, generate a Tracked48 label for one, and duplicate the tracking on both. I don't understand the eBay impacts of that though and what that leaves me open too; maybe it will show delivered on both? Maybe one will stay as 'undelivered' and rely on the buyers honesty? It isn't clear, and isn't optimised to allow combining on eBays end.

·2 weeks agoThe issue is the purely the lack of protection your side.
While you will have tracking that shows delivery. There will be two issues
Click and Collect also relies on the eCP code being entered by the store. You'll have one item with no code scan
You'll also technically not be sending the second item to the address on the label - as part of the address is the eCP code
It's a minor risk - but it is still a risk

OP2 weeks agoThanks, yeah I had no idea eBay didn't like multiple tracking codes across different orders. I'm going to give it a go in this case (repeat buyer, trusted, £20 item) and see how it goes, and just mark the redundant order as 'dispatched' with no tracking code. Thanks for the feedback.

·2 weeks agonormally not an issue for businesses - orders can be merged and you can use the same tracking number on different orders (if they happen to order items separately). It is now an issue for Private Sellers.
But it has always been an issue with click and collect orders - as the addresses are on the face of things different.

OP3 weeks agoThere isn't the usual Generate Labels > Tick both orders > Combine shipping ... since eBay sees two different addresses due to the two different eCP numbers in the address
