Hey all
I am a UK based seller and have received a German message from no.reply@ebay.com saying:
"An account protection notice has been issued for your eBay profile. Completing verification helps avoid temporary limitations on your account."
I've signed in through a link they sent me and had to verify how much money I have in my bank account.
I was not even aware I had any problems with my account - There are no messages from ebay regarding this in my app and no emails from them either??
What would cause something like this and why was it in German???

EDIT: Yes it WAS a scam which I VERY nearly fell for - It is now all sorted with ebay and my bank - Should have searched on here before getting involved!! Thanks people appreciate the support!

·2 weeks agoI've had 2 this month. One in Polish. Forward the e mail to spoof@ebay.co.uk.
They must be getting loads of reports.
Always have a look to see if you have a message in your Ebay account. If you don't, ignore and report it.

OP2 weeks agoYeah it's all sorted now ebay were very helpful as were my bank.
I'm absolutely FURIOUS with myself for falling for it but it looked SO real I just never doubted it until they asked for money.
I work in a mobile phone shop and often give customers help with avoiding scammers and I've always thought myself above this kind of thing but the scammers are getting more cunning!

·2 weeks agoYou appear to have received a SPAM email attempting to access your account --- contact your Bank immediately to alert them for any suspicious activity and change the email password.
Unless you are absolutely certain, do not click on any links contained within emails.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedYeah I stupidly went through the link AND confirmed my card details but have since spoken to both ebay AND my bank and it's now all sorted thank god.
It was a very VERY good attempt though I like to think I'm way ahead of this kind of thing but this one nearly got me!!!!
