New season, new chances for success
Spring is on the horizon, and we’ve got plenty to share. This month, I’m updating you on everything from eBay Live to Seller Meetups, alongside the progress we’re making across the marketplace.
February ended on a positive note with an invitation to meet the Small Business Minister, Blair McDougall, at Downing Street. At a time when AI is redefining how businesses grow and compete, we discussed how we can level the playing field for small businesses. I’ll share more below about how you can futureproof your selling with AI.
We also kicked off our first eBay Businesses Roadshow of 2026 on 27 February. After five years of Roadshows, this was our first ever event in London and it was fantastic to see such an amazing turnout. We introduced more practical, hands-on sessions, including seller panels on eBay Live and eBay AI Activate.
But, as always, it was the networking moments that stood out to me. You’ve told us how valuable it is to connect with other sellers, share challenges and swap practical tips, and it was brilliant to see that happening throughout the day. I also left with clear feedback on international shipping, particularly around simplifying customs and clarity on costs, as well as requests for more guidance on regulatory compliance and ideas on how we can help your business run more efficiently.
Hearing directly from you helps us focus on what matters most, and we’ll use this feedback to continue to shape how we support you and your business over the months ahead. Check out our recap of the event, and if you haven’t already, don’t forget to register for our next Roadshow on 19 March in Belfast.
It’s been a pleasure spending time with so many of you in person over the past few weeks. As we head into March I want to thank you for all of the feedback you’ve shared, and for being such an active part of our community.
As ever, thank you for shopping and selling on eBay.
Eve Williams, General Manager, eBay UK

eBay Live isn’t just for established sellers – we’re actively encouraging new sellers across clothing, luxury and accessories to sign up and start streaming. As more buyers get ready to shop fashion live, make the most of this opportunity.
Making AI accessible for every seller
Last month, I met with Small Business Minister, Blair McDougall, at Downing Street to discuss an important question: How do we make sure that small businesses aren’t left behind as AI continues to redefine the world of selling?
It became clear that AI needs to be made available to all businesses, of all sizes. This is exactly why we launched eBay AI Activate in partnership with OpenAI last year, and now, we’re seeing impactful results:
- We’ve provided 10,000 UK sellers with access to ChatGPT Enterprise
- 75% say they’re saving time, with some claiming back over 10 hours a week
- 65% say they feel more confident about growing their business
It’s been particularly exciting seeing first-hand how some of our sellers are using eBay AI Activate to understand their listing reports, enhance social media posts, research products and much more. Hear more about how our community is making the most of AI tools in their day-to-day business.
Connect directly with our eBay AI Activate team at our upcoming eBay Business Roadshow in Belfast on 19 March. You’ll be able to access hands-on workshops, get help from experts and learn how you can support your selling with AI.

Looking back on the eBay Business Roadshow in London
We kicked off our 2026 eBay Business Roadshows in February, in the heart of London. The day brought together business sellers from across the UK to explore key topics, hear updates from our teams and swap selling tips.
We introduced more practical, hands-on sessions designed to help build confidence when selling on eBay, including an eBay AI Activate workshop. Sellers got to grips with using AI to improve their listings’ titles, descriptions and images, helping them to save time without sacrificing quality.
Roadshows play an important role in how we share updates in person, answer your questions and provide support. They help you connect with other sellers and share ideas you can apply to your business. If you were unable to attend our London Roadshow, you can watch the recap here:
Plus, we have more eBay Business Roadshows coming up on the following dates:
Belfast – 19 March
Cardiff – 21 April
Newcastle – 12 May
Nottingham – 19 May
We can’t wait to see you there – spaces are limited, so register now to secure your spot.

In the spotlight: Phillips Hobbies
Last year, we launched our Up & Running Grants programme in the UK, and were pleased to award 25 sellers with a £10,000 cash grant to help fund what’s next for their businesses.
This month, the spotlight’s on George Phillips, owner of Phillips Hobbies, a models and collectables business based in Cambridgeshire. From starting out as a teenager with his own diecast collection to making his very first eBay sale, like many of you George has become a valued member of our community.
Since winning the Up & Running Grant, George has used his grant to hire more team members, stock up on in-demand products, invest in advertising and support his local community. Watch the video to hear more about how this seller’s growing his business.
It’s always so inspiring to see how our sellers are using their grants to fund their ambitions, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for George and Phillips Hobbies.
