From 1 January 2015, new EU legislation is changing the way VAT is charged on electronically supplied services. This will impact your eBay fees.
The new legislation requires eBay to apply VAT at the rate of the country where you’re based (for example 23% for Ireland) rather than the rate of the country where eBay is based (15% for Luxembourg up until 31 December).
If you’re a private seller, you’ll see a slight increase in the amount you’re billed for transactions from the 1 January 2015, due to your local VAT rate being higher than that in Luxembourg. The fee pages will be updated accordingly.
