Business Seller Updates for eBay.ie - February 2019
Hi business sellers,
In our first Business Seller news of 2019, we’d like to inform you about the following updates.
Item specifics in 2019
We’re adapting our approach to Shop by Product. While we recommend you match your items to a catalogue entry, you won’t be required to do so. In certain categories such as Clothes, Shoes & Accessories, we’re making some Item specifics fields mandatory. This will help buyers find your items and sell them faster.
Fee Updates
From 1 April 2019, we’ll update our final value fees in certain categories on eBay. We invite you to make yourself familiar with them so you can manage your financials accordingly.
Good ‘Til Cancelled in 2019
We’re taking further steps to simplify the shopping experience across all eBay sites. The only listing duration for all fixed price listings will be Good ‘Til Cancelled from April 2019.
International changes
Do you sell on sites other than eBay.ie? As always, we’re committed to supporting you as you expand your business internationally. So we’ve summarised the changes on our international sites.
Reminder on VAT in Germany
The latest changes to German valued added tax (VAT) law require marketplaces to take additional measures to verify that sellers are compliant with the local law. IE based sellers may be required to upload their German VAT certificate by 1 October 2019 if they meet certain criteria.
eBay has always worked with German authorities to prevent tax evasion. We will continue to take action against those who don’t comply with the law. This includes, but is not limited to, listing removal and account suspension.
Our next Spring Business Seller news will be announced in late April, which will include new enhancements to help boost your sales.
