Authenticity Guarantee for trading cards is expanding to single cards priced £350 and above

From 13 July, Authenticity Guarantee for trading cards will expand to include eligible single cards priced at £350 and above , excluding postage, down from the previous £500 threshold. This means more high-value single trading cards can benefit from expert verification by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA). Eligible listings will continue to show the Authenticity Guarantee badge automatically, helping them stand out and giving buyers more confidence when they purchase. What’s changing • The eligibility threshold is reducing from £500 to £350 , excluding postage. • Authenticity Guarantee still applies to single cards only . Lots, sets, kits, decks, boxes and packs are not eligible. • The Authenticity Guarantee badge will appear automatically when a listing is eligible. There is no opt in or opt out. • There is no fee for Authenticity Guarantee. eBay covers the cost of authentication and tracked delivery from the authentication centre to the buyer. Check your listings are set up correctly Please make sure your trading card listings accurately describe what you’re selling. If you’re selling more than one card (a lot, set, kit, deck, box or pack), do not list it as a single card . Listing these items as single cards can incorrectly trigger Authenticity Guarantee and may cause delays after the sale. Eligible single cards must be listed in the correct category and meet all other eligibility requirements .  How it works When an eligible single card sells, you’ll send it to eBay’s authentication centre. PSA will carry out a multi-point physical inspection to verify authenticity and confirm the card matches the listing description. Once verified, the card is packed with tamper-evident protection and sent to the buyer with tracked, next day delivery. Cards are authenticated, not graded or re-graded. Returned trading cards are also inspected by experts before being sent back to you. Sellers who dispatch within their handling time and provide tracking are protected against negative or neutral feedback, and Item Not Received cases related to the authentication journey are removed from Service Metrics. Learn more about Authenticity Guarantee for trading cards and sell with confidence Thank you for selling on eBay.

New EU customs duty now in effect for low-value imports

Starting 1 July 2026, the European Union is introducing a new customs duty of €3 on imported items valued under €150. To help ensure a smooth buying and selling experience, eBay has updated its import fee experience for eligible transactions and will continue to support cross-border trade into the EU. What this means for sellers  Due to these changes in EU customs requirements, Royal Mail International and Packlink label purchases on eBay are temporarily unavailable for shipment to the EU. Sellers should purchase their postage label directly from their carrier to complete their shipment. For sellers using the Global Shipping Programme, applicable import fees, including any customs duties, will continue to be handled as part of the programme. Buyers will pay applicable import fees at checkout and should not be charged additional import fees at delivery. For sellers using their own delivery methods, carriers may collect applicable import fees as part of the import process. Some carriers may begin requiring duties-prepaid shipping, also known as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), into the EU for certain services or destinations. Sellers should check with their carrier regarding any new EU requirements, and review their pricing and delivery arrangements, as appropriate. What this means for buyers For items shipped through the Global Shipping Programme, applicable import fees will be shown at checkout and buyers should not be charged additional import fees at delivery. For items shipped using a seller's own delivery method, carriers may collect applicable import fees as part of the import process. Depending on the delivery service used, buyers may be contacted by the carrier about applicable import fees before delivery. Delivery times may also be longer than usual during the initial implementation period as carriers and customs authorities adjust to the new requirements. What’s next? We will continue to monitor the implementation of the new EU requirements and provide updates as additional guidance becomes available. We encourage sellers to check back regularly for the latest information. As always, our goal is to make international trade as simple as possible. Please note that the €3 customs duty applies per unique item under the applicable EU customs rules. For more information, see the European Commission’s guidance page . Thank you for being part of the eBay community.

EU Right to Repair Directive: What business sellers need to know

If you sell goods to customers in the EU, you may need to update your repair information and buyer communications to comply with new EU Right to Repair rules. Starting July 31, 2026, when a buyer contacts you about a faulty item and asks for a remedy, you must offer a choice of repair or replacement. If they choose a repair, your warranty period is extended by 12 months. This applies to all general goods. What you need to do For general goods: If you are a business seller offering goods to buyers in the EU, and a buyer invokes their statutory rights during the warranty period, you have the following responsibilities: If an item is reported as faulty or not as described, you must offer the buyer a choice between repair or replacement. If a buyer chooses a repair, the warranty period for the item is extended by an additional 12 months. You must also inform the buyer of this extension before you conduct a repair. We recommend reviewing and updating your warranty processes and all published policies to reflect this. Purchases made before July 31, 2026 are not subject to these requirements. Additional requirements for certain products listed in Annex II: For certain products, in the categories listed in Annex II of the Directive - including washing machines, washer-dryers, fridges, dishwashers, TVs, vacuum cleaners, tumble dryers, welding equipment, smartphones, tablets, cordless phones, servers and data storage products, and products that include batteries for light electric vehicles (such as e-bikes, e-scooters, and similar devices) - additional requirements may apply. These requirements apply if you are the EU-based manufacturer. If the manufacturer is outside the EU, someone in the EU must take over its repair obligation. This will be the manufacturer’s EU authorised representative, or if there is none, the importer, or if there is no importer, the distributor. For goods listed in Annex II Check the EU Ecodesign rules for your products to understand which spare parts, repair information, and services you must offer, and how long they must remain available. Offer repair services for the duration of your repair obligation. On eBay, publish repair information, including details about coverage, repair options, and typical repair prices. You can make this information available through seller notes, the item description field, and/or the order confirmation email. If Annex II repair obligations don’t apply to you, you may still want to help your buyers by informing them who they should contact for a repair. Thank you for selling on eBay.

Celebrating refugee entrepreneurs on eBay this Refugee Week

At eBay, we believe in creating economic opportunity for everyone. This Refugee Week, we’re celebrating our partnership with The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network (TERN), and the refugee entrepreneurs who are building businesses as part of the wider eBay seller community. Since launching our partnership with TERN in 2021, we’ve supported over 100 entrepreneurs across the UK. Through training, practical support and access to the eBay marketplace, these entrepreneurs have been able to turn ideas, skills and ambition into growing businesses. Building businesses and community To mark Refugee Week, we’re spotlighting three of our TERN refugee entrepreneurs who are building their businesses on eBay. Celebrating Inspirational Refugee Entrepreneurs with TERN | Refugee Week 2026 Hear their seller stories, what entrepreneurship means to them and how selling on eBay has helped them reach customers and build new opportunities. Like all our sellers, they bring creativity, experience and determination to eBay. Their stories reflect what makes our seller community so powerful: people using their skills, ideas and resilience to build businesses that work for their lives. Lavrentii, founder of TARRARI Antiques, left Ukraine with his family on the first day of the full-scale war in 2022 and arrived in the UK through the Homes for Ukraine scheme. A lifelong antiques dealer and former auction house owner in Kyiv, he rebuilt his business from a small wooden shed beside his new home, selling antiques and collectables on eBay. With support from TERN, an eBay Up & Running Grant and eBay AI Activate, Lavrentii has expanded into a dedicated workspace and employed another Ukrainian refugee, helping create opportunities for others rebuilding their lives in the UK. Before leaving Iran, Mitra and Ehsan were both engineers, and they have creatively reapplied those skills, experience and determination to build their eBay business. Through TERN and eBay, they built Tech Cell from the refurbishing and resale of a single iPhone into a growing business that has now sold more than 15,000 products on eBay. For Mitra, courage means to “never give up”, with finding a solution always the core focus. Like Lavrentii, Mitra and Ehsan, Novella Hats founder Ahmed sought refuge in the UK and has channelled his skills, dedication and resilience into building a growing business on eBay. With support from TERN and eBay, including an Up & Running Grant, Ahmed has been able to grow his business, building a large, international customer base in just two years on eBay. His advice for other prospective refugee entrepreneurs is simple: “You just need to start and put your heart into it and have the courage.” Continuing our work with TERN Refugee Week is an important moment to recognise the courage and contribution of refugees, and to celebrate the entrepreneurs building businesses and communities on eBay with support from TERN. We’re proud to continue working with TERN to support refugee entrepreneurs across the UK, helping more people access the tools, training and marketplace they need to start, grow and sustain their businesses. Thank you for being part of the eBay community and selling on eBay.
