Active listings not found in Search

Active listings are not showing up in the relevant category when I use the filter for sellers based in the UK. I am a UK seller, but cannot find my items despite the fact that my seller listings shows that these items are active.

I am glad that you can see them - because I can't !

I can only see these when I browse my active listings in my seller tab. When I try to search for them under the relevant categories they do not appear. The only filters that I am using is for Item Location - which is UK, and the Region - which is the one the items are listed under. It is very puzzling.

The only reason you can see my listings is because you are searching on my username. That is not the way that most users would Search. If you try to Search using the specific filters such as Item Location: UK only; Region: 'XXX'; and so on, they will not be returned in the Search results. The Search facility is effectively broken and not able to construct sophisticated queries to the database.

The first 4 words in the title are the most important, the ones to be used , for buyers to search for that item.

I entered your second item into Search..... Malta 1930 postage, out of 221 listings, yours was second.

This is exactly my point. The Title field should be irrelevant when searching on other criteria. One should be able to construct a Search based on the other fields.

For example, if you get the listings up for Stamps>Europe>France and Colonies and then apply the filters Region:'French Cameroon' and Item Location: 'UK only' you will not see any of my listings - despite the fact that they are listed under the Region category as French Cameroon. The Search facility is using the Title field and not the Region field. My lots under French Cameroon all start the Title field with Cameroon and so they are not being retrieved by Search. This is clearly wrong, in that the Search is not operating on the appropriate fields.

On double checking my last post I see that my listings are under the Regions "French Cameroons" (sic) which is an incorrect spelling by eBay, and that they all start the Title field with the correct wording which is "Cameroun". There should be no obligation to write the word "French" in the title as these are listed in the Category "France and Colonies".

This proves that the Search is not being conducted on the Region field as requested.
