I have a cust who has received a delivery today but the item in the photo is not mine and I have never owned or sold this item. She is stating this was in the bag which was supposed to be a coat. Where do I stand as a seller

Send the buyer a polite message to check through their purchase history again as it would seem, they have contacted the wrong seller.

Do you have any tracking to show your item you sold to her is showing delivery, or still in transit? Do you write your name and address on the back of your items? Always wise to. If so, ask her to check this. That may help you prove it's not your item.

If none of the suggestions work, then buyer should open a not as described case and you will have to provide a return label, and on return refund. You can at this stage report to ebay, but do not expect any miracles, as their standard attitude is they did not see what was sent or received.

You may not think this is right, but if you do not go along with the system, buyer can escalate to ebay, who will refund at your expense, and you get a defect.

What exactly is buyer claiming to have received?
