Just sold an item to buyer with no feedback member since 24 never had a "newbie" before what extra precautions does anyone suggest I should take.

I can only see a recently sold item for £36, so not the usual top dollar scammer magnet.

New eBayers are joining all the time, it's not indicative of anything except that they're new.

As a matter of interest, apart possibly from arranging your own shipping if this was an item of very high value, what extra precautions do you think that sellers can take?

Sellers have no control over how buyers pay and whatever a buyer's feedback score, or lack of it, they get the full benefit of eBay's money back guarantee. Not to mention the additional 120 day opportunity to issue a chargeback if they pay by credit or debit card.

In any case, apart from high value "scam magnets" the biggest risk doesn't always come from newly registered accounts. The worst risk for sellers is that a buyer can build up plausibly good 100% positive feedback to create a false sense of security, and then abuse one seller after another with no fear of this being mentioned in feedback. Sellers are not allowed to leave anything except positive feedback and comments for buyers; if they leave anything to the contrary eBay will remove it at the buyer's requst, even if known to be true. And it's the seller who will be penalised for violation of eBay's feedback policy!

Where payment is required through eBay's checkout there is no such thing as a safe way to sell on eBay. Sellers have to accept the risks to sell here. Most of your sales are in the price range where the risk is tolerable.
