Purchased a brand new sealed PlayStation 5 on eBay worked perfect or so I thought

used it offline for a month as I don’t do friends etc anyway purchased Gran Turismo 7 only to find I needed to log into the PlayStation store for the full game to work

Did this and got the message

This PS5's services access is permanently or temporarily suspended

Rang PlayStation to be told the serial number I gave had been stolen so the consul is banned

Contacted eBay and they don’t want to know as it’s past 30 days!
so I presume it’s ok to sell stolen goods on eBay as long as the customer doesn’t notice in 30 days. This is so annoying but I suppose I should of checked the ps5 online when I purchased.. Only good thing to come out of this I suppose is I have the sellers name and address to report to the police.

Any ideas what I can do with this disc edition consul ??

Its not OK to sell stolen items anywhere, but how would ebay know it is stolen?

As it is past ebay 30 day MBG, contact your payment provider.

As advised, try your payment provider and definitely report the seller - 'reportfraud' now handle such reports.

With the number they provide for your report, and any evidence you have that the item was stolen (can you get an email from Sony to confirm this?) you should win a chargeback.

For me, the fact that the seller was a private seller with lots of new phones would have been a red flag.

Although they have a good amount of positive feedback, they have only been active on Ebay for a year and are trading illegally from a private account. Business sellers have to allow 'any reason' returns and must display their business name and address.

Check who you are buying from.

Did you buy it in January?

If so, and you funded that payment with a debit/credit card or ApplePay you're still just in time to issue a not as described chargeback.
