Could somebody tell me it you sell a low value item say £1.99 and send via Royal Mail so you have prove of posting but no tracking as you have to pay more for tracking and it would not be worth sending the item of that value if you had to pay for tracking As well

and the item gets lost but you send another and the buyer though they give positive feedback mark you down for late posting so it affects your seller ratings is there anything you can do as eBay take the word of the buyer and you can't prove tracking details

so it seems to me if you send a lot of items like I do with only prove of posting and a few over the year get lost in post and the buyer marks you down for late delivery

and you find yourself going from a top rated seller to a standard seller just because some of the items got lost in post other the year, seems so unfair to me

but them again just like eBay

If you use RM 1st or 2nd class post you can still check delivery without using tracking. This is ideal for less expensive items.

Your proof of posting contains a reference number which you can check on the RM website. Look at this page:

https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/52

Although these services don't provide full tracking they do tell you if the package has been delivered. eBay accept this as proof of delivery if you put the reference number into a 'not received' case.

If a buyer says they have not received something and you can check if it is true it can discourage false claims. It can't be used for 'large letter' items - only 1st and 2nd class packages.

It will no prevent late delivery defects if an item is not delivered though.....in the cases mentioned the buyer gets only one option......did the item arrive by ?? It is unlikely a second item would arrive by that estimated date......so even the delivery confirmation code would not help.....eBay do not accept DC numbers as proof of posting dates

3D tracking is only supplied where labels are printed with the QR code printed on them.......if a seller uses their own labels or does not get individual COP's with the individual QR reference numbers then it will not work

A sensible buyer would look at date of postage, not delivery which is beyond your control. As already said ALL PARCELS have a 16 digit tracking number which ebay will accept if it shows delivered, but I don't think it will help with "Late Delivery".

If you send your item from the post office the proof of posting has the reference number on it which can be used to confirm delivery. No special label needed - and I can confirm from personal experience that it works.
