I know all about the Buyers returns guarantee, What about Sellers protection from the many buyers that are abusing there returns guarantee and damaging items for a free return or saying not arrived when it has or saying not as discribed for a refund when it is?

Hi

To be honest there is not that much Seller protection.

For INR to win you need to add a tracking number to the case details proving delivery to a Buyer.

For all problems i always request that the Buyer opens a case. This way it puts it on record with Ebay as to how many cases a specific Buyer opens. I have read threads on the boards where Ebay and Paypal will not entertain cases from some because they have already "opened too many cases".

For not as described cases Ebay will go with the Buyer 99% of the time because they do not physically get to see the item in question.

If you honestly feel a Buyer has deliverately damaged an item to get a refund then all you can do is report them for abuse of Ebays MBG.

"damaging items for a free return or saying not arrived when it has or saying not as described for a refund when it is?"

How do you know the buyer got the item unless you have tracking, in which case you would win a dispute.

How do you know the buyer damaged the item and it did not happen in transit.

Seller says as described, buyer says not as described and eBay never see the item to know who is being truthful - so they back the buyer in an attempt to put both parties back to their original position.

ADDED = leaving false positives for buyer's you don't agree with can only damage your account as it's serious feedback abuse.

What about Sellers protection

What seller protection? EBay enables buyers to run rings around rules which are supposedly to protect sellers. Every sale today is a gamble whether the buyer will abuse eBay's money back guarantee to defraud the seller.

Take the situation where a buyer opens a case because of postal delay, and then keeps both the refund and the item when it arrives. Even with tracking proof of delivery, eBay does nothing to require them to return either the refund or the item. How can we see this except as proof that eBay isn't concerned about buyer on seller dishonesty?
