Question Final value fees on postage??? in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

So, it's been happening a while but I've just got round to looking into it. eBay's "Help & Contact" section has bought me here, but I will give them a call when they are open next...

I assume I won't be alone in saying how ridiculous this is. I only ever charge actual postage costs, no little extras for "packaging" or "processing". However, I now find myself with a shortfall whenever I purchase postage because eBay has decided it will take 10% of the postage in (additional) Final Value fees.

When a buyer leaves feedback, is there not a little tick box asking if I charged reasonable postage (I can't remember), but if this is the case then how do I ask the buyer to consider the extra 10% I've charged on actual postage costs because eBay decides to be greedy???

I've just sold a guitar, shipping will cost me £14.99 (which I charged my buyer on the listing) but now I've only got £13.50. It might not seem much on the occasional listing, but what do you full-time sellers do - charge your buyer that extra or does it come out of your own pocket?

eBay; why do this??? It never use to be this way. Ok, if a seller decides to offer free P&P, that's up to them - they may charge a little more for their items to cover this. But can't you see that taking a second lot of fees (on postage) is taking the biscuit??? Sort it out!
