Hi everyone

I recently sold some 9ct gold scrap jewellry on ebay, Buy it now or best offer. I listed the item as used, 9ct gols scrap and said i was unsure of its weight, my kitche scales say 12grams but this isnt accurate. I listed it for £120 i got an offer of £97 and i accepted.

sent the item out 3 days later i got a case opened claiming the item is snad.! The buyer said, "This is NOT 12 grams, its only 9.2 grams you led me on to think it was 12 grams i want to return it to you and get a full refund"

Anyway, I wrote back explaining i had said i didnt know the weight and my kitchen scales are not accurate enough to be sure that is the weight, I send a percentage of my sales to cancer research and i really did not want to have to refund him for an item that is as described simply because i believe he changed his mind.

He then wrote back, "Only 2 bits of gold are hallmarked, the rest is fake" I assured him it was all 9ct gold and i had it tested by a jeweller. I said please go to your local jewller and they will assure you its all real, i wouldnt list fake items i always make sure before i list anything"

He replied "I believe you are having me on, I want a refund".

Anyway, He is refusing to go and have it tested, so i think he knows its real he is just trying to find reasons to send it back because the weight was not what he wanted. He has opened the case with ebay and said he trusts they will do the right thing and refund him.

Is there anyway i could win this case? I was sure i listed it all correctly, I didnt say anything about hallmarks but i am sure it was all gold because i had it tested by a respectable jeweller....

Any advice would be much apprechiated! thank you x
