Question broken foot straps in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

Hi I bought an excersise trainer from Global fitness and the first one I bought was faulty, I had to ask e-bay to intervene to enable me to get a replacement which I got a few days later

but after using the second bike the straps (which were made of plastic broke). I was given a gift of money as a present for a birthday present and decided to purchase this piece of equipment. The recent bike was only used three times and It was with disbelief this had happened next. I decided to contact Global fitness three times to inform them of my prediciment

and each time I have receivied no reply. I did ask for replacement straps ( not plastic ones since these aren't robust for the purpose they are intended for). I have read that Global

fitness have had good customer feed back but now I realiase this is not the case with myself. This is the second time their lack of communication has been rather laxed with myself.

I am aware that under the 1989 sale of goods act states that goods sold to a consumer has to meet the criteria of this act which clearly it hasn't done in my case. Why should I pay

for goods in this manner if these aren't up to a standard which should be met. I know there is a code of conduct for the e-bay consumer to protect our rights but to be treated in this manner is unethical.
