Question POSTING AN ANTIQUE ITEM TO RUSSIA in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

Hey there all,

I feel I have been pressured into selling an item to a Russian buyer after he convinced me has never had problems receiving items. Global Priority told me I cannot use their services as the buyer is a private individual and customs are currently only looking at parcels designated for businesses.

I sold the item but would now rather reimburse the buyer as I am being made aware that sometimes Russian customs send items back and the sender (me!) is liable for the cost.

I would really appreciate hearing of anyone's experience of posting to Russia.

Many thanks in advance.

Debbie

Not sure how it is now but there was a time when Russian customs were a nightmare and held things for over 60 days!

Personally I wouldn't do it, i'd rather apologise to the buyer and refund them and take the hit if necessary rather than lose the item and my money, but it's not my account.

ETA just seen that you stated you only post to UK anyway so you could just send a cancellation citing buyer from country you don't post to.

You would be best off to set up your buyer reuqirements to block bidders from countries you don't post to as just stating UK wont stop anyone actually bidding.
