Initiating a return when a case for same item already open

I bought an item that didn't arrive. I opened an Item not Received case. Buyer had forgotten to send the item, which she then did. Item arrived damaged, dirty and mouldy 😠

Question is, if I try and close the Item not Received case, I get a message saying I won't be able to a case for the same item, but I will need to open a Returns case, as the item was not as described, so that I get both my money and the return postage back. I cannot find anywhere on eBay help that addresses this issue of opening two separate cases for the same item.

Has as anyone had the same thing, and how did you resolve it? Thanks in Advance 😊
