New payment system question!

really sorry if this has been asked before but this is the first time I have used this! Just a question about ebays new payment system. I have just (after a few weeks of deliberating!) entered my bank details to my payments as a fairly regular seller.

However,shortly after I receive an email from eBay confirming my direct debit instruction.

I know this is a probably a stupid question but is this standard ie just to let me know this is how they will take the monthly fee? I was under the impression it was just to receive money from items sold?

I do believe its in case you are forced to do a refund or get a chargeback

Basically Ebay deduct their fees before they send the balance to your Bank account which will take a few days

There is no monthly fee, all fees are deducted before ebay pay you.

DD is for ebay to reclaim any money they have to pay out if buyers open case & need refund.
