Bid retraction

I listed an item for £6 and immediately had an offer of £40, which I rejected politely saying I never end an auction early. This same buyer continued to bid the item up to £61, the current winning bid by another buyer.

Suddenly he retracted his bid citing the age old 'entered incorrect amount' two days later. Turns out his retracted bid was £60 and he entered an amount of £8. Some typo! The item then fell back to £13.

I seem to remember that there was always an ability to retract a bid if you had made a typo but this had to be within a very limited timescale. Reading discussion boards it seems to me that this is now being exploited in a big way.

What do other sellers think?

Put them on your Blocked bidders list

Set your Buyer requirements to block bidders with non payment strikes.

Check their feedback to see if they retract on a regular basis by going to their feedback and clicking on left for others. If they have then bring it too ebays attention

Not sure how or if ebay would deal with it but it does wreck your listing
