Question Partial payment by Ebay in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

Hi, I sold my first item on EBay, few days a back. Total value of the item was coming up to be £32 after deducting the postage and VAT. But this morning I got an email that I have only been paid £26. Why is that please?

Don't you realise that ebay deduct 12.8% + 30p. There is no deduction for postage and VAT.

Ebay fee is charged on the total of Sale price + Postage which would be £37.20.

Fees are deducted from the £37.20 paid by the buyer.

I cannot agree your figures but you have all the details, click on PAYMENTS at the top of Seller Hub Page which gives a breakdown. I have never found any calculations to be wrong, I checked a few at the start of Managed Payments out of curiosity.

Thanks for your reply, that’s not 12.8% of £32. On the transaction it says VAT deducted. Sorry I’m just confused

Item sold for £34.00 + £3.20 P&P = £37.20.

Ebay fee of 12.8% + 30p = £5.06.

Net amount = £32.14.

20% VAT is included in fees charged.

If you deduct £3.20 P&P, you end up with £28.94.

Okay that’s helpful, but still £1.98 short because what I am about to receive is 26.96.
