I have just accepted offers of £5 each on 2 different items from the same buyer.

I sent an invoice for both combining the postage at £3.70 making a total of £13.70

I have now had 2 emails from eBay, one for each item, and they both say "Your buyer has confirmed the payment of £10.00 + £2.85 postage."

Can someone explain these figures please?

What has the buyer actually paid? Did you amend the invoice correctly as you are no longer able to edit the postage but have to insert using DISCOUNT. I always check that the total being requested is correct, as I suspect that you have got your calculation wrong.

Having looked at what I assume are the two items, and total postage would have been £5.70 and to get to the £3.70 you quote you would have had to discount by £2.

What appears to have happened is you have discounted by £2.85 exactly half of the combined postage. This is not something that can happen by accident, you must have put in the wrong figures.

I definitely put a discount of £2 on the combined invoice to give a total of £13.70 and this is what the buyer must have seen as that is what he paid. There must be a glitch in eBay's system for them to send me 2 emails from eBay, one for each item, and they both say "Your buyer has confirmed the payment of £10.00 + £2.85 postage."
