I made an offer on a corner sofa and a swivel chair. The buyer made a counter offer and I accepted it and paid. I think the buyer has had someone else offer higher amount and now wants me to pay this higher amount. Is the buyer obliged to sell to me at the price she offered it at? Or can she choose not to, refund my money, and sell to someone else?

Jennie

They are supposed to honour your offer but in practice no one can force them to.

Hi. I probably haven't made myself clear. I did offer, it wasn't accepted, they counter offered. I accepted the counter offer and paid. The seller then had someone offer a higher amount. Has said that she did not make the counter offer. She is willing to sell to us if we pay the extra £250. Ebay have said they are committed to sell and complete the transaction. I am guessing she won't sell it to me. I will need to report this to Ebay and action a refund via the dispute route?
