I would guess that this is a well spoke about subject.

I am particulary "ired" about this, being on the wrong end of a few sales.

E-Bay use "Nike Trainers" as an example of their policy on counterfeit items and point out that it is "illegal" to use the branding or sell fake items.

Why is it that Nike shoes therefore, is one of the top fake and counterfeit items sold on here?

It also seems that the ones which I report seem to be still listed for sale months later.

Why?

ebay cannot check every item that is listed on the site,

nor can they remove listings after one person reporting the item

that is why they have the money back guarantee,

every buyer can get their money back if they are sold a fake

The Item has to receive dozens of Reports before EBay will Take the Listing down.

So, if ebay discover a seller listing fake items they can close it down, but if a member informs them of same, they wont?,,, I understand the Money Back Guarantee , but why have a facility to "report" if not willing to do anything about it.

it takes more than one report as it could just be a rival trader claiming the seller is selling fakes, it takes several reports and/or not as described cases before ebay will act

Surely common sense would prevail if a pair of £150 shoes were being sold new in box for £35.00. This would be fairly obvious as not being a jealous trader.
