eBay have lost me £14.99p because of a order I made 13/11/2020 the item was meant arrive on either the 17/11/2020 or 18/11/2020 and never arrived on either of those days , on the 19/11/2020 I contacted the seller and asked what the delay was they blame it on to Royal Mail and told me that they were not responsable I waited until the 20/11/2020 and the item had still not arrived , I then contacted the seller again and told them no longer wanted the item and going to refuse delivery when it arrived as it was for a customer of mine who's computer I was repairing and that the customer I had went took their computer elsewhere to be repaired because they were willing to wait any longer they had waited longer enough . The item then arrived on the 21/11/2020 at 11.41 am and at 11.46 am was marked return to sender that was a full 3 days later that the expected delivery date even which 17/11/2020 or 18/11/2020 I belivev that I was indeed within my rigths to refuse delivery as it was 3 days passed the delivery date given I tried to explain this to ebay in my appeal but it appears that they refused to investigate my claim for a my refund the item was refused delivery on 21/11/2020 and every time i contact the seller they tell me that it has not been return yet and refuse to give me my refund I have asked the seller politely for their full name and address so ii can contact Trading Standards which they refuse to give so I need to contact Trading Standards because I fill that if they had took the time and check all the evidence that I did indeed refuse delivery and had the item returned to sender the outcome of my case would be that got my refund of £14.99p thank you Regards Michael2149

You seem to have made up your own rules on how to deal with problems on ebay

The item was delivered to you but you refused it

You should not have done that and should have opened a returns request and returned it at your own expense to the seller

What was the latest estimated day of delivery on the listing

The item arrived one week after you bought it.

There are delays on the mail sometimes and you always should allow a little time

Did you pay for the express delivery?.

If the item did not have a return address on the package then the RM would be unable to return it too the seller

I dont think Trading standards would be interested in your problem

Very unfair to even think of reporting them

They are a business and if eventually they do get their item back then they should refund

If it is the Seller you have left Negative Feedback for? He is not a Registered Business Seller. Sorry, Trading Standards just won't be interested. As said you shouldn't have Refused Delivery.

ebays delivery dates are only ESTIMATES (look it up if you don't know what this word means)

there are no guarantees that an item will arrive on the estimated delivery date

if you refuse delivery of an item purchased on ebay you lose all rights to a refund through ebay

you should have accepted the item and then opened a returns case

ebay will not force the seller to refund you as you did not use their money back guarantee,

you need to sort this out with the seller,

but they don't have to refund you

Your negative feedback breaches eBay's rules too. The seller can have it removed. You are a very experienced eBayer but it is important to understand that eBay works by its rules without exception for members. Every one here is a member like you with vast communal experience and they have set out the way to deal with it.

EBay certainly has no procedure to give refunds for items which do not arrive on time. There are too many variables, sellers not despatching promptly and postal delays come to mind.

@michaelf2149

Three days after the estimated delivery date is nothing at the moment for Royal Mail, they are struggling with a lack of staff and a larger than usual work load of parcels.

Trading Standards will not be interested in your problem, and as has been said, if you refuse delivery you refuse the right of buyer protection,

You'll have to hope seller put his address on the reverse otherwise it will never find it's way back to him and you won't be refunded.
