A stupid buyer sent payment of £50 for a parrot cage on stand despite me putting collection only on listing ( why can they not see that?) then when told them i am in London area & they are i Wales & i am not delivering demanded a refund which i did in full ie £50.but e bay have charged me £5 for the sale.Or same item some other idiot wanted it then did not want it ie a time waster,no money changed hands it was a cash on collection sale.It is same item parrot cage etc.Cannot get through on ebay telephone help line for advice on matter. If i refunded the first buyer (time waster)in full via paypal & second time waster did not show ie backed out of the sale & no money changed hands then why have they charged me £5?.Thanks Martin.

If you cancelled correctly using reason 'Problem with buyer's address' the buyer would hasve been refunded and you would have got your selling fees back.

You wouldn't have got your Paypal fees back as they are non refundable.

If you refund straight from the Paypal payment you might have earned yourself an account defect too.
