UK Distance Selling Regs? Refusal of Refund

Hi,

I purchased a key for Noron 360 security software. I didn't spot that I incorrectly ordered the PC version (I have a Mac). I politely asked the supplier for a refund or exchange and they flatly refused. The key was just e-mailed to me. It wasn't used, so could be resold in the same way. It is got my hackles up because they were so impolite/blunt. I understand there is a requirement for a seller (the seller is a business) to refund an item if requested within 14 days (under the above regs). Can anyone advise if the regulations cover this type of product, and if yes, is there anything more I can do? After their initial response, the seller has ignored my subsequent e-mails. If the product is covered, it is annoying that they can just ignore the regs.

I would contact the Citizens Advice Bureau. Digitally delivered goods (intangibles) are not covered by the eBay money-back guarantee.

I buy my av direct from the company's official website or, on occasion, from reputable high-street retailers. Way too many 'over-subscribed' keys for sale on here.
