Question Absurd postage charges in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

Lately there have been a few items where, when received, the actual postage charge was several times the real charge, if special delivery is what the seller offers, I totally understand that it costs more, but if I get the item then as 2nd class, large letter, unsigned for, in the flimsiest packing ever and paid 9 for postage, I really feel ripped off. Is there any way of holding the sellers to the delivery they promise?

Edited to add:

PS: Been in touch with eBay regarding it, as the seller was pretty awful and called me a lot of things for contacting and asking why I paid for special delivery (with a considerable surcharge for packaging) when I got it as a 2nd class letter, ebay said they consider it price gouging and encourage to report it, they will also force sellers to refund excessive postage charges. I really don't quibble about the odd pound more for packaging, but if I am paying several times the actual cost and they don't send with the service they claim to send, it feels like a blatant rip off.

no, ebay don't get involved in postage disputes,

if you chose and pay for a service and the seller then uses a different one, you can contact them and point this out, they may have made a genuine mistake it is easily done,if they refuse to rectify you can mark down the star when leaving feedback

but if the seller used the service stated on the listing, they have kept to their delivery promise,

the item was sent according to the service they advertised,

the price charged has nothing to do with the actual cost of the stamp, it includes the sellers costs to get the item safely delivered to your door.

Sorry no there isn't , ebay do not get involved in postage disputes.

Contact the seller, a good seller will reimburse any over charge, though there is nothing to enforce them two.

Leaving bad feedback to denote a high postage, the seller may well ask for its removal as the postage charge was clearly written. However, if it did not match the service, then that can be left in feedback.

To respond to your edit. If a seller does not post by the advertised method then you are entitled to reflect that in feedback. Other than that, there is nothing you, or ebay can do. Ebay cannot force the seller to refund you the excess, that is yet another lie by ebay telling you what you want to hear.
