Sold high value item to 0 Feedback buyer

I've just sold a 'buy it now' item of high value to a brand new ebayer with 0 feedback. They paid for the item straight away and both ebay and paypal are listing the same address. I have taken the funds out of my paypal account.

I am planning on sending the item with UPS to include signature and full insurance for the item.

I will take lots of photos of the goods and packaging etc.

Is there anything else I can do to make sure I am not being scammed later one.

Check that UPS will fully cover you for an item of that value ? ... Royal Mail Special Delivery is usually recommended with adequate compensation cover for loss or damage. Check your PayPal account for the payment status eg. Paid/Held/Pending/OK/Safe to send etc. to the address given there before shipping.

To comply with eBay's seller protection all you can do is send using trackable postage to the address on the payment. That will guard against false "not received" claims.

By the way, should be buyer requiire a refund for whatever reason you need sufficient money in your Paypal account to cover it. Or it will come from your bank account but takes longer.

We all started at 0 feedback

They may have opened the account just to buy your item

Hopefully everything will be ok but there is always risks with selling high (or low) value items

It will make no difference removing the money from paypal

If a dispute is opened then ebay will charge you for any refund and if you dont pay they will eventually send in baillifs

Thanks yes you can buy extra insurance up to £300 with UPS. I was paying for postage costs.

Never seen the 'payment' status aspect on Paypal, thanks for that.

Thank you I will do. Happy to keep money in my PayPal account, but just didn't want the rest of my funds to be 'held' as I've sold a lot on eBay recently.
