I was contacted via ebay by buyer of new cartier watch which i sold in October 2019.

the buyer claimed it had stopped working after 10 hours of use and/or not as described , and some paperwork was wrongly dated .She said that the watch was in jewellers , which i had no problem with this as i had purchased from reputable dealer. . I sent additional proof of provenance .Next i heard was paypal has frozen 2k in my account , and a dispute/claim had been made on watch. I have replied the best i could .

What worries me is that opinion on net is , cases are usually found for the buyer.

Welcome any help or advice as this is a serious amount to lose.

Ronnie

For that amount of money PayPal will require proof if the claim is that the item is fake.

If the claim is that the item isn't as described then you may win given the time that has passed since the sale but the chances are you may be forced to accept the watch back.

If you are, you'll need to see what you receive, then, if appropriate, take legal advice to pursue the buyer for any damage they may have caused (or if they send something back that wasn't what you posted).

Adding to the advice already given -

You won't have to pay the return postage.

It might be worth while bringing up the facts that the buyer is/has got it repaired and as it was purchased in Oct 2019 and stopped working after 10 hours why has it been left for 4 months before making a claim?
