Hello,

As communicated to our sellers, we’ve made some changes to the eBay.co.uk User Agreement (UK User Agreement) and eBay Buyer Protection Policy. These are effective immediately for new members, and on 12 March 2013 for current members.

Here is a summary of the main changes:

We’ve added a section to cover international trading. In particular, the new section covers selling items internationally, and related tools including estimated currency conversion, postage calculation tools, and the translation of listings into other languages. In addition, we’ve updated the International Selling Agreement that sellers agree to when listing items with international postage or on a site that has an eBay Buyer Protection policy.

We’ve also added a new policy to cover the use of all types of comparative pricing (i.e. RRP or historical pricing) on eBay. You can find the new policy here.

We’ve included a section to highlight your responsibilities when buying items on eBay. We aren’t adding any new responsibilities, just highlighting them.

We’ve added further details to cover the use of eBay’s mobile applications, as we’re likely to change how we display the terms and conditions for our mobile applications in the future.

We’ve made further changes regarding eBay Buyer Protection as summarised below (see the eBay Buyer Protection Policy for the full details):

As communicated to our sellers in the Autumn 2012 seller news, we’ll be making some changes to allow buyers and sellers to communicate more efficiently about transaction issues. This means that contacts from buyers for items not received and significantly not as described will be collected and presented in the Resolution Centre to help bring about an efficient resolution. Contacts from buyers will no longer count against a seller’s performance rating. Only unresolved eligible cases that are referred to eBay for a decision may count against a seller’s performance rating.

As a seller, where we seek to carry out a buyer reimbursement, and you don’t have sufficient funds available in the transaction currency, you authorise us to request PayPal to collect or reverse variable amounts in other currency holdings.

As with earlier updates, other changes have been made to keep the User Agreement up to date with the products and services we provide.

You don’t need to take any further action to accept the new eBay User Agreement. If you choose not to accept the new terms, visit this help page for further information.
