It would be useful if you could share why you think it is meaningless and pointless.

I don't do a lot of purchasing on ebay - but will generally look at if a seller has feedback and it will still inform the decision.

I think eBay have tinkered around with it too much. It can be extremely helpful (and entertaining!) to see what others have said about a seller and/or an item, so it is a real shame the system seems to be on the decline, with noticeably less feedback being left.

As far as viewing feedback is concerned, it only used to take a couple of clicks to get to the feedback page and find what you wanted to see. Much more fiddly these days.

The quickest way i have found to view a sellers feedback is to put one of their items in my watch list and then click on their feedback number which takes me to their feedback page.

Still a kerfuffle ....🙃

I do it on a pc,no idea how things work on the app as i have never used it.

Not entirely sure how it could be any easier to view.

The only time that you really want to look at feedback is if you are buying something from someone.

And then you literally just need click on the feedback number from any item. How on earth could that be any easier to do? What's the kerfuffle?

If it is someone buying or bidding then you can do exactly the same thing, just from your own listing or if they have bought, from the items sold page.

You don't even need to do that as it's shown on the listing itself either below or to the right of the 'About this seller' section, depending on what device you are using, so you just need to scroll down to that part.

That doesnt actually work,all i get is a RECENT feedback page which gives me zilch or a wander click to get where i want to be.

Hmmm yeah... I have found: (bear with me , this drags on a bit....)

If you have something on your watch-list and click on the item to bring up the item page, you can then click on the feedback number. OK.

This brings up a 'box' with *some* feedback in it . At the bottom of the box it says 'see all feedback'.

Click on this and it brings up another page of feedbacks but not the numbers of positives, neutrals and negatives. In the top right of that page it says 'switch to classic view'.

When you switch to 'classic view' you actually get to see the box with numbers of + neut and -, but you *still* have to change from 'most relevant' to 'most recent'.

Last time I tried this 'most relevant' looked great. Changing to 'most recent' put a neg at the top of the list......... I wonder why ebay thought that wasn't 'relevant'?

(I'm on a mac lap top, not a phone, if that makes any difference......?)

The listing page shows the most relevant feedback. If you need to see more than that then click on the 'Show All Feefback' button underneath and then use the sort/filter buttons as required or the button to switch to classic view if that's what you are looking for.

No......Feedback is extremely important.

Being able to view a Buyers, or Sellers feedback is essential to gauge if you will be secure in doing business with them, and if you are likely to have any problems in trading with them. Also feedback is a good indicator of the professionalism of your trading. How many times have you seen someone get bad feedback, and then go on the defensive, using abusive and derogatory language? Instead it should be used to make corrections and improvements to your service as a seller. So in my opinion feedback is very useful.

The problem with looking at the feedback at the bottom of the item page, is that it only shows a few 'relevant' feedback - and does not display the prices. Clicking to See all Feedback just takes you to the newer, pc-unfriendly feedback page, which also does not show the prices - and the filter box thing is like a clicking, sliding-over, button-pressing, pop-up puzzle... 😖

So you click again to switch to the Classic View feedback page, and click to switch from Most relevant to Most recent. And click to remove the automated feedback. If you switch tabs to view Left for others, then click back to Feedback Received, it has defaulted to Most relevant again...

Not a big deal if you only want to check out the feedback for one item from one seller, but if you want to compare several sellers, and maybe go back & forth, all the extra clicks & defaulting does get rather annoying/time-wasting.

Unfortunately, since the introduction of the new fb page, I don't think there is a direct route to Classic View - even clicking on the fb score next to the seller's name just brings up a pop-up box, then it's another 2 clicks to get to the Classic page... 🙄

So I looked at your listings to see what I was missing. Top of the list was the Rexel stapler. I could click on *Product* feedback but not seller feedback. I could have gone to the top of the page for seller feedback, but why don’t ebay make seller feedback as well as product feedback clickable from the list .

So I click on the item, the stapler. Aha, I can see a clickable 99.2% feedback, so I duly click on that. In spite of the fact that the filter says “All ratings”, it only shows me 8. Only one of them is from the past month and two of them are a year old.

I see a button at the bottom of the page that says “See all feedback”, so I click on that. The first page has 20 feedbacks, mostly 6 months old, some a year old.

So now I use the filter to get the most recent and I see that nearly all of the most recent is automatic.

So now I go back to the filter and having removed the automatic feedbacks, I finally get what appears to be useful feedback.

Except that there’s nothing to tell me if the feedback is for you as a seller or a buyer. To get those separated out, I have to switch to Classic View, and even then the default is Most Relevant rather than Most Recent.

FINALLY, having removed automatic feedback from the Most Recent, I eventually get some useful comments.

PS. And I'm a long-standing ebayer who knows how to work my way through the feedback system, even if it is time-consuming. I dare say most newbies only see what ebay wants them to see, on the first page they're presented with, which is all positive feedbacks even if it's a year old.

I'd be interested to know which feedbacks ebay thinks are more 'relevant' than others, and why a very recent neg was considered not to be 'relevant'.

If 'most relevant' simply means items similar to the one being 'watched' or looked at, surely that should be under product feedback?

Rather than 'relevant' making the seller look spotless; reading negs, and any responses to them, gives buyers a good idea about whether or not they'll receive the item they want and how the seller deals with any problems. Not how many of the same, albeit successful, similar items they've sold .

As a private seller , feedback 'automated' is pointless. If you get a good long reply, it stays there and goes to the top.

No idea what eBay considers to be 'Most relevant' but it doesn't appear to be related to product type as looking at the stapler mentioned in the post above 6 of the 8 shown on the listing are for clothing items, 1 for tumble dryer sheets, and 1 for facial wax strips (ironically the same item they got the 2 most recent negatives for).

If the same item has been sold before by that seller and feedback left then there is a filter option to show only those above the feedback section on the listing.

They are the bane of my life. The most absolutely frustating item to sell.

People are incapable of actually reading the description and then complain, because they haven't.
Even when the title literally states "Read description"!
The negs I have got for them are unfair. But can I get them removed.....

Still got about another 1000 or so to get rid off, then will not be replacing them. Far too much hassle for far too little.

The feedback sections could definitely be clearer and more intuitive but they are pretty easy to navigate once you know how.

Clicking on the seller's feedback percentage at the top of the listing just initially displays the same feedback information as that already shown on the listing further down the page, which is why I suggested scrolling down to that section instead and using the 'See all feedback' button there if required (one less click).

The modern feedback view only shows feedback the seller has received as a seller, not that received as a buyer, so there isn't really any need to use the classic view unless you want to see the breakdown of positives, neutrals, and negatives received for the last month, 6 months, and 12 months respectively (would be useful if that information was added to the modern view) or the feedback the seller has left for others.
