listing removed

I listed some Legal CB radios all stamped CB/27/81 all FM all 27 MHz all purchased from e bay over the last few months . Thousands of listings still on here same legal items . I am in a local CB club where these same radios are used daily and yet e bay took my listing down and refuse to let me sell they even cut my chat off and will not engage.

That's really weird... did they give you any sort of explanation? As you say eBay is awash with listings for CB radios. I sold a few myself not that long ago - old stuff from my loft; some UK legal, some not so much.

When you see all the cheapo Baofeng dual band sets for sale on there, some of which can transmit on all sorts of frequencies, you could be forgiven for thinking they don't care about stuff like that. Odd.

Hi thanks for the reply. Its odd they repeated its all illegal 26 meg and not allowed I pointed out several times they were 27 meg FM with the CB/27/81 mark and I had purchased them in the last 6 months from e bay . They insisted it was against policy to list CB radio on eBay. I pointed out they have 10,300 listings in this category some of which were CB/27/81 and a lot that were not uk legal and they just went back to yours are not allowed! in the end the manager said my voice was corrupted and he could hear me after 30 minuets he hung up on me . didn't

even get chance to say 10-10 till we do it again!

From eBay's electronic equipment policy:

"The following types of electronic equipment are not allowed:

CB radios in 26.1-28MHz frequency"

When it comes to enforcing their own policies eBay does not do so fairly nor equally. However, one thing that is is clear from many posts on these boards is that once you are on eBay's radar it is nigh on impossible to get off it so I would advise you not to list any more CB radios.

Having checked Ofcom's guidance about the regulations it seems only 27MHz CB radios are legal to use in the UK. However, eBay's policy prohibits CB radios using that frequency from being listed so eBay effectively does not allow CB radios to be listed in the UK.

Thanks for this . Very good points and well put. Sadly another shut down from E bay . I totally agree not worth further violations and time to stop. I am indeed on the e bay radar despite being a member since 2011 with 100% feed back I have had several odd removals from e bay even the classic Biscuit Barrell being accused of selling a gun!

I think the problem is that Ebay is no longer controlled by people. AI has taken over.

Hi Andy same here got told I was being monitored as I put CBs on three times

He said cb/27/81 does not make them legal according to the FAA I replied we are not in the USA

had to give up been on legal XB since 1981 buyer / seller on e bay since 2012 . I am now getting more items removed a Biscuit barrel accused of being a gun , Multitool ( no blade) as a lethal weapon and Dictaphone as a secret recording device! . Taylors scissors as a lethal weapon.

I think AI is part to blame .
