Winter Hill's on fire now.

Saddleworth Moor has been burning for days and now Winter Hill is on fire.

I can see the plume of smoke from here and as I look it appears to be West of the transmitter mast.

Who else can see it (at distance)?

I can only see about 25 miles this morning, too much haze so I can't see Winter Hill at the moment.

That was on the telly last night and apparently they have arrested someone for starting it deliberately. I just don't understand the mentality of some people.

It would be some view for you to see it from there, 250 miles?

Today, I can only juuust make out the shape of Winter Hill through the haze.

I’ve seen both, not from a great distance though, – Saddleworth Moor 17miles to the east and Winter Hill 17 miles to the north west.

Tuesday evening was the worst, surrounded with smoke so bad it grabbed hold of your throat, went to close the windows and noticed all the sills were covered in ash.

Not been as bad since the troops were brought in.

It’s getting worse on Winter Hill.

We really need military help there like we’ve got at Saddleworth.
