David Cameron has called for greater transparency in tax havens and a clampdown on aggressive tax avoidance and evasion.

And then:

The new claims put pressure on David Cameron just an hour after Downing Street insisted the tax affairs of Ian Cameron, who died in 2010, were a "private matter".

So, that's greater transparency to ensure the minions are paying every penny of tax that can be clawed, but total cloaking on those overloaded with 'wealth' who don't want their affairs to be investigated.

Seems like more and more photos of him are showing a rather worrying inclination to not be able to manage his temper.

I seem to remember Call Me Dave making that particular soundbite a targeted mission ages ago. Not making a very good job of it is he ?

The reason that the Tories are always so keen to distract attention away from the much more serious problem of tax dodging is that the people responsible are Cameron's donors. They are the people that the Tory party exists in order to serve. There's absolutely no way that Cameron could turn on his wealthy paymasters, even if he wanted to. All Cameron and the Tories can do is spout some tough talking rhetoric on tax-dodging and most of the guilible public believe him,

I love how some people not only think that one day that they will be rich but go a step further and think 'one day I will be rich so I better make sure that rich people today have a way to evade paying taxes as I will too when I am rich, and if anyone thinks otherwise they are undermining my future success and are obviously part of the politics of envy brigade

Obviously most posters understand exactly how these funds work judging by the criticism of them being made.

Could someone explain exactly what is wrong with them and for example how the shareholders of Blairmore Holdings gained any tax advantage by the company being based overseas. Everything I've read seems to indicate that when dividends were paid to UK residents or shares were bought or sold then all UK taxes were paid by those individuals - in exactly the same way as if shares were bought on the New York Stock Exchange.

So how do the owners of these companies actually gain any tax benefits?

If there is a case to answer then so be it, however despite the cartoons and stereotypical comments I am yet to see a shred of evidence to say Cameron has done anything wrong. Should we be held responsible for the actions of a parent or relative? In Iceland the situation is far more clear cut, as is the case elsewhere. Politicians should rightly be scrutinised because they are in public office but this need to beat them just out of opportunity makes no sense whatsoever. Btw I have no strong leanings politically so perhaps that explains my confusion.
