Loyalty Cards

I'd like to buy something online from WHSmiths, but it doesn't appear that they're connected to either Boots' card or Nectar's. Have I overlooked it? It seems strange that out of all the retailers that you can collect Treatstreet or Nectar points from, Smiths isn't one of them.

Haven't you ever wondered why supermarket chains and big retailers operate loyalty cards? It isn't so that they can sit down with a computer and work out how to improve their profits, It is because Big Brother - the Government, buys the information off the supermarket chains so that they can work out how much shoppers in general are spending on certain commoddities so that they, in turn, can raise taxes on certain items to milk us for all we are worth. Without buying the information from supermarket chains, how customers spend their money in general would be just a calculated guess.

THAT is the reason I don't waste my time on one point here, or ten points there when I go shopping, and why every penny I spend is in CASH so that this twisted Government have no way of knowing how much money I have and how I spend it. Going off at a tangent maybe, but with interest rates as they are, there is no point in saving any money. For many years, all my money went into a safe. Now it stays in an even safer area - my pocket!

Hadn't thought of that, I should have known though "doh", consumer information is just another comodity to sell on these days.

That's nonsense, in the unlikely event of governments having that intention, it would be far easier to get the information from the supply chain rather than the sales side.

The info that comes from the cards is entirely for use by marketeers.

I have two loyalty cards ! one Morrisons the other Tesco which I only use when fuelling up works vans then use the tokens for groceries when going to our caravan.

That way it costs us virtually nothing for groceries on holiday. Only everyday items like fresh bread, milk etc.

Main grocery shop for home is done in Asda and always use cash.

If its possible can i get one Nectar Loyalty Card as i am a resident of United Arab Emirates and buying items from ebay.co.uk. Can anyone help me out
