Some calendars start off the week with Sunday, others start the week with Monday.

Which do you prefer?

I prefer Sunday. Last year I had a couple of arguments with people who thought a calendar should start the week with Monday so what does the RT team think?

The calendar here (left click the time) starts with Monday.

I agree that the start of the week is Sunday, and if you think about it, Greenwich meantime goes by Sunday I think as well as we do the clockcks Saturday night to start the new time on Sunday.

One thing I have that perhaps backs that up is my weekly tablet box, which is a seven day week and starts on Sunday and ends on a Saturday. I have calenders that start both on a Sunday and a Monday. I have to admit though I have never really thought about it much before. I have always gone by Sunday as the start of a week.

I used to prefer Sunday as the start of the week many years ago, but I came to find it easier to see the weekend as a whole section together much easier.

I use the calendars with squares to add info, appointments, etc and often there are craft weekends which are easier to mark with the days together rather than split.

My religious education told me that God laboured six days to create the world and on the seventh day He rested. Since Sunday is regarded as the day of rest, that makes Sunday the end of the week. However I've met very religious people who maintain that Sunday is the most important day and therefore is the first day. I've also met very logical and technical people who say you can start a week at any time on any day that you like. Hope this clarifies things

If you're going by the religious reasoning, it's actually Saturday which was the 7th day.

That part comes from the Old Testament which comes from the Judaic scriptures and for them, the 7th day that has been observed for thousands of years is what in modern time is a Saturday - well it starts at 6pm on the Friday and goes through to 6pm on the Saturday - the Sabbath.

I know that you can't use "logic" to solve some problems, Politics and Religion spring to mind but just think of it this way ........

When God made Heaven and Earth, did He rest on the first day and then work for the next 6 or did He work for 6 days and then rest on the 7th? So then if Sunday was God's day of rest, surely that day would come at the end of the working week.

I guess that only works if you believe in God.
