Seems unlikely mustard-tree.

Sold for £1.85 less 19p commission, less possible listing fees.

The postage costs more then the item, and then there's packaging.

Rose ,I would email them, but didn't you wonder at the price, seems more likely that the Seller doesn't know what he/she is doing.

Have they beeen doing it for long? might be worth a look.

I agree that Free post may have been intrepreted, as free to the Seller, but I really can't see anyone being that naive, and they would soon be put right. Worth looking into Rose.

I cannot see them stumping up another £1.69, better to give you a refund and forget the item.

Then with your refund you could claim the item from the Royal Mail.

Or..... if the item is worth it you could accept it as a genuine mistake, tell the Seller, and then move on.... it is Chrismas...

Wonder if someone can help?. I brought an item on here for £1.85 and free postage. I got a card in my door this morning thats said it could not be posted as sender did not pay for postage?. Eh?. The payment i have to pay if i want it is £1.69. Should i message the sender and ask them to sort it or can they even do that as its in my town now???. Why did they say free postage then?. Just need some suggestions?.

Maybe the seller has got the wrong end of the stick about what FREE postage actually means LOL

I would message the seller, Rose and ask them to transfer the £1.69 into your Paypal account. I'm sure it was a genuine mistake on their part and they will be happy to give you the money. You could always scan a copy of the card if they require proof from the PO.

However, if they refuse to give you the money, file an item not received dispute to get your money back and buy elsewhere.

The parcel will eventually be returned to the sender I assume if no one picks it up.

Ah OK Rose, I only said Paypal because it would be the quickest way to transfer funds to you - do you not have a Paypal account?

It doesn't really matter how you paid for the item as this will be a completely seperate payment. I suppose they could just send you the cash in the post or a cheque/postal order.

It is possible that the seller did attach stamps but they came off.

I made that mistake years ago, by sticking stamps onto parcel tape. They dont stay stuck.

Ronnie the postage would be 69p I think with a £1 surcharge for unpaid postage.

But I agree it would be more cost effective for the seller to just refund Rose the £1.89 - she can give the post office £1.69 and keep the other 20p as compensation

I'm going through this scenario at the moment, seller posted dvd in a postbox with a 69p stamp on, i paid the extra £1.41 to get the item and messaged seller explaining. Now most honest sellers would immediately apologise once they realise there mistake, mine denied it, and when i sent a pic of the stamp he stopped all communication, grrr 😄

Anyway, to cut a long story short, if your seller doesn't refund the extra postage you paid then do what i did and contact ebay buyer protection team and get them to intervene, they're doing this for me and hopefully i get my money back.

Hope your seller is honest and you get the money back, just sharing my situation, hope it was okay to 🙂
