I was expecting a parcel that I was really looking forward to receiving. Evri managed to rip the package open resulting in ⅘ of the contents falling out which meant the delivery man handing them over to returns,
He brought the open package to me with 1 of the 5 items.

On the previous delivery by Evri, a ream of paper, had been dropped on one corner resulting in lots of sheets of paper creased meaning only fit for cutting up for note paper.

GSP issues to Malaysia

Hi there

I have GSP enabled on an item and Malaysia is definitely enabled on that (have double checked!) but the buyer says they are not able to buy the item - they have message saying from ebay when they tried saying "the seller won't send this item to Malaysia". Does anyone have experience of this and know a way around it?

Frustratingly this also happened to me last week when someone wanted to buy something and they were in Hungary, again even though I had settings set to Hungary on GSP. After about half an hour the sale went through but this person in Malaysia has been trying all day!

Thanks in advance!

Generate custom PDF statements? Have eBay changed this?

So I need to be able to generate custom ranges of transaction statements in PDF format. I used to be able to do this last year - I could specify a range of dates (e.g. 3rd January to 14th May) and eBay would generate proper statements in .PDF format.

Now when I go to that section, it seems I can only download individual month statements, and have to wait 3 (!) days after the end of the month to get the previous month's statement?

I know I can download a .CSV/spreadsheet with transactions but I need properly formatted statements with the eBay logo/heading etc like I used to be able to.

Am I missing something? Has eBay changed how to do this or just removed the feature for some unknown reason?

Tried contacting customer services who were useless and I had to explain it.

Thanks

URGENT STAFF ESCALATION: Technical Glitch wrongly forcing 20% VAT on UK domestic listings

Hi Community Managers,

I am writing this here because standard front-line phone and chat support are completely misunderstanding a severe technical bug on my account.

I am a UK-based, UK-resident private seller. I operate entirely under the VAT threshold and am NOT VAT registered. I ship domestically within the UK, and use eBay's Global Shipping Programme (GSP) for international sales, shipping directly to eBay's UK-based shipping hub.

THE GLITCH:

My account has been hit by a back-end location glitch, likely triggered by GSP data. The system has incorrectly flagged my profile data structure with an "Overseas Seller" marker. As a result, the automated system is illegally enforcing 20% Marketplace Facilitator VAT on my standard domestic UK-to-UK listings in all categories.

Front-line support keeps reading from a script about "Import VAT" because they see the automated flag and assume it is real.

I have already verified that all my account addresses are correct and tried refreshing the listings, so this is definitely a core back-end data issue. IT ran a basic check and closed the ticket, failing to see that the flag itself is the error.

Can a Community Manager please escalate this directly to the Technical/Database Tools Team to manually override and clear the incorrect overseas marker on my account profile?

Thank you.

Luke.

Devastating experience with this AI enhanced support system

Hello,

After weeks of back and forth Im really exhausted by Ebay's organization - my case was really simple and we lost extremely long time without any resolution. I'm member since 2008 and haven't used the support in years, however I can't even find the right words to describe my experience from the whole ordeal.

Long story short - my nationality in personal info section is wrong and I cant change it. So I contacted the support and explained the case and that I can verify my identity with ID, documents and whatever required. They said through chat that this will be handled by another team in 72 hours. Fast forward a week ahead nothing happens - I contact them again, they say that I need to create a new seller account because nationality cant be changed and this happens from time to time so it is perfectly fine to have 2 accounts.

I created a new account and it was immediately banned.... If I try to write them from my original account they say because of GDPR they cant help. If I write them from the banned account no message goes through because AI system filters it. I tried to request a call - as soon as I picked up the call other side cut off the line. No way to contact anybody.

My case is totally legit, Ive never caused any issues and always followed the stated rules. In the end this does not matter at all.

If you wonder why I need my nationality changed it is because of VAT. I want to sell my items and ship them, from EU country, I'm EU citizen but due to UK status of my account I get hit with over 20% VAT surcharge which makes them unsellable...

At this point I my last hope is if someone can tell me how to reach a real person who can actually help. That would be a huge relief.

Also if by any chance any support members read the forums case ids are
SR# 1-505707422315 and [THREAD ID:1-6GC30OR7].

Buyer not receiving their item, eBay saying relax. How does this work?

For a relative, not for myself but I'm interested in how this is as I've never had to deal with it as a seller so I'm asking on their behalf but also to educate myself.

They sold a vehicle part, £30. The buyer has opened an item not received claim against them.

One screenshot they sent me says "Your buyer's request is on hold" which goes on to say "there's nothing you need to do. We can see the item is on its way, since you chose simple delivery (what on earth is that? It's been a while since I sold) we've got everything covered from here".

They sent via Evri, tracked.

Buyers payment & sellers drop off both happened on 18-May with drop off being at dinner time (lunch for you posh lot).

They have a "running behind" notice with "original estimate Wed 20-Tue 26".

I was always under the impression that when a buyer files one of these INRs, you as the seller basically have no choice but to refund them because buyers hold all the cards and then if you have tracking you have to chase your chosen courier yourself to see if you can get compensation for it (no idea what happens if it turns up in the meantime).

So eBay saying sit back & relax has baffled me a little because how would they be taking care of you, the seller?

Age verified postage for private sellers one option £11!

As per title there is literally only one option now and it seems to start at £11! What is eBay doing about this it's ridiculous having one option of ups at £11 when your trying to send a £10 allowed bladed item that usually cost £3 to send! Need more options or a cheaper way eBay!

Buyer returned wrong item and Ebay closed case in the scammers favour

I'm a registered seller for approximately 20 years now (this is the first ever time in history I am deciding to use this community forum and I did not want to reveal who I am) that has been selling paintings and rare expensive prints, all with 100% and zero issues.

I recently sold two paintings under the same order to a buyer who had 8 positive feedback. However upon the items being delivered to them, I received a message from the buyer stating that the items were damaged and torn apart, as well as receiving photos. I know for a fact that these paintings were not damaged when I packaged and sent them, but the buyer did not insinuate this either as they had immediately begun blaming the courier saying that this kind of stuff has occurred in the past for them too due to dodgy posties (bearing in mind the delivery proof of postage image showed the parcel looking completely fine).

Since this was literally the first issue I've ever had whilst selling, I contacted Ebay and asked them for advice. They simply informed me to let the buyer know to start a return, which they did once I notified them. I must state also that the value of the order was over £400, which is significantly impactful for me as well. When I received the return shortly afterwards, I was shocked to discover that one of the items returned was actually a cheap printed version of the original painting that I had sent, something the buyer must have already had in possession or somehow gotten scanned, as well as the second print not even being included at all. This was a red flag for me because in the original photo that the buyer had sent to me, the second print barely looked damaged and seemed fixable, so without accusing them or anything I believe they've just held onto it without getting rid of it, since they did not return it back to me as requested. I would like to make it clear that I know the other print which was returned is definitely a fake since the material is more of a poster print whereas the original which I had sent was a thicker museum grade texture.

There was no point me contacting the buyer as their deception here was so obvious that I just contacted Ebay immediately and said they'd launch a case with the buyer, informing me to wait a few days or something (I can't remember much, the customer advisor on the phone was being pretty vague) until I hear of the outcome. After a bunch of days I was shocked to the core when I read the email from Ebay notifying me that they have sided with the buyer and closed the case in their favour. This has almost put me off from ever selling again as I honestly feel so violated. Moving on, I have no idea what else to do. I did contact Ebay right after to ask them their reasoning behind this however it was the same type of scripted response you'd expect from these customer advisors, refusing to engage or discuss further.

All in all, over £400 has been lost from me and I've not received either of the original prints that I had sent out. Is there anything I can do at this point? Anything the buyer might fall in trouble for? I just don't get how they can get away with something like this,
