DO YOU HAVE A BOOK QUESTION?

Hi all, pippy_oak here, posting under my brand new user name. Hopefully, Richard will pin this thread, as it seems a nice tidy place to pose specific questions about a book (Is it a 1st edition, what's it worth, where to find it etc. etc.) Don't just...

A couple of questions

The Books Board! I only discovered it today. So as the title suggests, a couple of questions. It seems to be the main topic of coversation at the moment on the main sellers board, how are your sales doing and what are you trying to do to improve sales?...

Postage price increases

I've always discounted postage on multiple purchases paid at the same time, asking buyers to wait for an invoice before paying. Even where 2 large letters, £1.10 singly became £2.20 when sent together I took off a small amount for saving an envelope ...

I am the author of a book called From Charing Cross to Bagdad, which was published by Eurotunnel. There are several secondhand copies on EBay. Also however there are two copies in plain red covers being sold by Baham Books from a retail address calle...

GreenMetropolis - has it closed down?

Hi all - used to sell on GM quite a while ago but took all my books off there a couple of years ago. Thought I'd have a look at the site, see how it's going but I cannot find it. There are recent references to it when I google but I can't find a dire...

ex-library books - genuine or stolen?

If anyone is still glancing at the Books Board I would be interested to hear their opinions about this conundrum. I only look in about once per week so will not necessarily respond in a hurry. I have bought many ex-library books and most are obviousl...

Any Book Title/Author A - Z

Here's another fun book themed game thread to play along with in this section! Pretty straightforward & speaks for itself really, so let's go! Alice's Adventures In Wonderland

Publishing a story thread

Years ago I saved the thread headed, 'Would you like to write a book'. Posted in the noughties many Books Board regulars took part and produced a very funny story. I've just been reading through it again and I wondered if it was worth publishing on K...

Book classification

Very wary of Ebays book classifications, so decided not to use them and lo and behold Ebay has puit their details in anyway. How on earth can a book with Railway in the title be unclassifiable. Not only do I lose sales but so does Ebay !!

Harper Lee

Any one read Harper Lee's other book, "Go set a watchman". I have to say I was disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed "To kill a mockingbird" but this one was the second most boring book I've ever read - the first being "Heidi", when I was eleven.

Did I miss something?

I've just noticed I am being charged only 26p for a listing rather than the normal 30p Is this due to a change in VAT treatment? and does this affect me if Im not registered for VAT, Or is it just another **bleep** up? ebay bombard you with loads of ...

Administrative error? Lol!

Leafing through some book sites I came across one selling The Great Controversy - hardback edition for - you wait for this: £5463.02 REALLY?!! The going price is about £10.00 + postage I wonder if I should point this out.

If I didn't find this funny, I might just cry!

A buyer won a number of comics from me last week, and I've just reeived the following email from him:- "I can't pay you for a couple of weeks. If I'd known I was going to win them, I wouldn't have bid" Explanation please, before I send for the men in...
