Wow this is an old question.

It means Brand New In Box.

However that's a bit subjective, to me it means exactly as it was when it came out of the shop and completely unopened.

To others it mean that they have bought it, had a fiddle with it and have put it back in the box with all the bits.

Any doubt, ask the seller for before buying exactly what they mean by BNIB.

'Buy Now Is Better'.

Seriously, ask. They could say it stands for anything.Don't assume.

:-D  Thanks so much for this question!

As with most 'Newbies' to ebay I too was baffled by this

- in fact I thought it might even be a brand name!

Or some sort of quality rating! as I was looking at Bakeware.

I too was a little puzzled by the term BNIB, first thinking it meant British National Institute for the Blind!

Now i know it means Brand New In Box.  Lol

I just had to laugh at radiospace's response as Bent N In Bits !!!!

It doesn't mean that at all - but it's a very entertaining way to think of it, especially when having dealt with so many bad sellers in my time !!! LOL
