returning a item

I won two listing both stating that they were diamond earring which they are not.  I informed the seller that they were not diamonds and asked that he will pay the return post for royal mail special delivery because royal mail will only insure jewellery this way. i Have put in a return request and then the next day had the return expected. How ever the sell has only gave me a postal for royal mail tracking 48 which dose not insure jewellery. I have inform the seller of this and they email me saying that will be OK. This will mean i will be liable if the items were loss or damage in the post. so I asked the seller again for the correct postal label. Now the seller has gone quite IE now more emails. I have tried to get help for eBay but I seem to be going round in circles as the return case is still open. any help or advice would be appreciated.
