Requesting a refund

I won a bid on a mobile phone which was described to be in 'mint condition'. When I received the phone there was a deep scratch/crack on the screen with damage to the edges. I contacted the seller and he told me that unfortunately it happened after I purchased the phone and it must have happened when he had cleaned the phone. I have put in a request to return the phone and he has offered me a £10 refund which I do not feel is acceptable as I bought the phone only because he said it was in ' mint condition. Am I within my rights to return the phone and have a full refund?

Yes, if the seller does not accept that they have to offer a full refund escalate the case 8/10 days after you started it.   Then click on Case Details > Respond to Case > Escalate This Case > Submit.

If seller is in UK ebay will require them to supply you with a paid-for return postage label which should be trackable.
