If you paid for your purchase using your card through the eBay checkout then the transaction would have been processed by Paypal on a 'guest' basis. When the seller hits the refund button, Paypal process the refund back to your card and the refund can take a couple of weeks to appear on your card statement although you could phone the card company to check.
