My listing not showing as local

I've be trying to sell a sofa since last week. Had it for sale what I believed to be well under what should of been sold for but still went unsold. A friend of mine who lives in same town as me has tried searching for my sofa and refined search to within 5 miles but my listing does not appear. I am an eBay newbie and thinking something must be wrong. My address is all set as correct as is my town. Are there any other settings I could have set wrong when setting up my account?
