Buyer/Seller contact details for long ended auction

Hi all,

Possibly a bit of an unusual one, but I've been searching for the medals and death plaque belonging to my great-uncle, who died on the Somme; these were issued by the British Government to relatives of all dead soldiers. At some point in the family history they've been sold and I'm on a quest to find and purchase them back. A preliminary search for the plaque has turned up a link to a different site which has listed its sale, but does not offer any contact details which I may use to follow the lead:

Link to death plaque sale (opens in new page)

These plaques generally sell to collectors, and I'd really like to contact the buyer and ask if they'd be willing to sell it to me. My question is:

Is Ebay likely to retain records of this transaction, and if so is it likely that they would be willing to contact either the buyer or seller to initiate a conversation for me? I'm assuming privacy concerns would prevent them simply sending me their contact details.

My hopes aren't great, but I'd like to know if only so I can discount the lead.

Thanks for any help

Matt
