emailed by seller wanting to cancel transaction beacuse it didnt go for as much as they wanted on auction. seller has asked me to make an icreased bid for item to complete. i said no. they then replied that item has now been damaged so will be unable to complete! really in an hour!! i think this is total unfair and would like the item as it was a gift for my daughter what do i need to do?

You can report them as a non-performing seller here:

but eBay can't force them to sell.   :(

It is very poor ebay practise  but you can not make them sell

Report for non performing seller

If you have been sent a cancellation request via eBay you must decline it within 7 days - seller gets stuck with the fees.

If you pay by paypal they won't be able to open an unpaid dispute against you and will either have to refund in full or post the item.

If they refund, report for non-performance, leave negative feedback and move on.

ask them for a picture of the damaged item. No doubt there will be no damage.
