Why is paypal taking so long?

Why is paypal taking so long?

I know this is more of a problem with Paypal, not Ebay, but Paypal's help service is ridiculous. Basically, I've made 3 separate withdrawals from my Paypal to my bank account. The first one said it would take up to 4 hours to process, the second 72 hours, and the third 4 hours again. The first withdrawal was made on the 25th, and it's only just come through (that's 4 days), never mind the second two. It's ridiculous. How am I supposed to afford the P&P when I have to wait days for it to come through? I'm sure there's some kind of legality against a company holding on to my money, when they have clearly stated that it wouldn't take that long. Paypal was brilliant as a Buyer, but as I've only just started selling items I've realised how un user-friendly it is.

To be honest, you're lucky that the payments weren't held for 21 days.

This is the norm for most new sellers.

Read up on it here:

4 hours is a new innovation  used to be  4 days for everything from paypal unless you paid  for faster process

maybe the payment was held  for investigation they hold quite a few then they screw interest on it

it should have stated when you withdrew

Thank you both for replying so soon. I had a look at the link, I'm guessing it's because I've only just started selling. But it's so silly, how am I supposed to send the item when I haven't had the P&P charge?

There are a couple of ways to speed the process up if buyers haven't left feedback.

If you've a tracking number, enter it on Transaction Details page on PayPal and mark the item as dispatched in your ebay summary page.

If you've any items that are showing as delivered on Royal Mail's track and trace website, you could telephone PayPal and ask them to release the funds for that transaction (they'll check the tracking whilst on the phone with you).
