How do I offer a buy it now price to a customer?

I am selling my item as an auction, starting at 99p, but I also had the buy it now option, set to £40, but this option is no longer available. Is this because someone has bid on the item?

Also the only bidder has now asked me about giving them a buy it now price, so is this possible, as no one else has bidded?

Hi,

Yes, the BIN price disappears once you receive a bid on the auction.

You won't be able to revise the listing now that you have the bid.  You will need to cancel the bid and end the listing:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/end_early.html

Then use the 'relist' link to the right of the item and change the start price to that agreed.  Once they have bid you can 'end the listing early to sell to the highest bidder'.

If they want to buy it at £40, you need to cancel their bid and the BIN price should reappear - all they have to do then is click buy now

I doubt the bidder is willing to pay £40.00 for the jeans if they had then they would have clicked on the BIN. In future when you list something list it for the least amount that you will accept for it. BIN's on auctions are a waste they just disappear as soon as a bid is placed. If the bidder does not agree a BIN price with you you will have to let the auction run and may have to sell the jeans for 99p.
